Home made Parallelogram binocular mount

Here are some pictures of my work in progress Parallelogram.
I've chosen some mahogany for the 4 main parallel arms for strength , the centre vertical post is temporary an only serves to hold the mount in a vice, as is the swinging arm at the end of the mount which will hold the binoculars.
When some decent hardwood is sourced i will remake these parts.

As you can see the movement is perfectly parallel when raised.

The total length of the mount from counter weight end to the other is about 1 metre.

The swinging arm add's another 6 or 7 inches.

Note also that all the bolts are just DIY store cheapo's, ill try to get some nice chromed ones for the finished mount.

A close up of the swinging arm and how ive offset the binocular bracket to balance them.
As this pictures is viewed is if you were looking into the objectives of the bino's.
This part works so well i think i will transfer it over to the finished version.
Ive also made 3 more positions for the bracket should i want to use heavier binoculars in the future.
